From Madison Athletics: “The Softball Team beat Buffalo Gap tonight 3-2 in 8 innings to advance to the Region 2B Championship game. With the win the Mountaineers also punched their trip to the VHSL Group 2 State Tournament for the 3rd consecutive year. Gap hit a home run in the 1st to take a 1-o lead. Sophie Adams tied the game in the 4th with a sacrifice fly but Gap would answer right back in the top of the 5th to take a 2-1 lead. Adams would again deliver for Madison in the bottom of the 6th with a 2 out RBI single to tie the game at 2-2. Madison would load the bases in the bottom of the 7th with 0 outs but Gap managed to get out of the jam and send the game into extra innings. Bailey Smith came up in the bottom of the 8th and delivered a walk off homer to end the game in heroic fashion. Madison will host Page County on Friday night at 7:00pm in the Region 2B Championship game.”

From MCHS Athletics: Congratulations to the Softball team on winning the 2019 Bull Run District Regular Season and Tournament titles. Madison beat Rappahannock tonight 6-1. Emily Seale threw a complete game striking out 11. Morgan Clark was 2-4 with 2 RBIs on the night.Bailey Smith, Sophie Adams, Logyn Estes, Cassie Smith, Kaylan Boone and Emillee Daniel all had 1 hit each. Madison will host Wilson Memorial on Monday at 7:00pm in the Region 2B 1/4 finals.
