The Boys Varsity Basketball team picked up a big win tonight over Strasburg 46-34. With the score tied at 32 early in the 4th quarter Khalid West sparked an 11-0 run for the Mountaineers with a pair of steals on the defensive end. Kobi Alexander led Madison with 15 points. Madison will host George Mason on Friday at 7:30 in a huge district contest. The winner will host the semi-finals of the district tournament. Click the photo below for photos from the varsity game.

The Girls Basketball team beat Clarke County tonight 40-27. Madison is now 9-8 overall and 4-2 in the Bull Run District. Makayla Taylor led the Mountaineers with 15 points and Abi Tanner added 14. The Boys Basketball team beat #7 Central Woodstock tonight 56-53. Madison is now 4-2 in the Bull Run District and kept their chances of at least tying for 1st place alive. Kobi Alexander led the Mountaineers with 26 points. Gaines Swink added 16 and Elijah Lewis had 10. Madison got a great defensive effort tonight from William Graves, Jamar Turner and Matthew Lewis as well holding the high scoring Falcons to their lowest point total of the season.
