The Mountaineers beat William Monroe 3-2 tonight in a thrilling volleyball match. The crowd was electric and helped Madison come from behind to win games 2 and 4. Madison dominated game 5, winning 15-6. Emillee Russell had 10 service points in game 5 and Allie Burbridge dominated the net in both games 4 and 5 to help the Mountaineers secure the win over their biggest rival.
The JV and Middle School teams also beat William Monroe today making it a clean sweep for Madison. Both teams won 2-0.

From Madison Athletics: The Varsity Football team won a gut wrenching come from behind win in overtime tonight over Warren County 26-20. The Mountaineers took their 1st lead of the game 20-17 with only 29 seconds left when Isiah Smith scored from 1 yard out. Warren County would then move the ball 40 yards and kick the game tying field goal as time expired forcing overtime. In the overtime. Matthew Lewis intercepted a pass in the end zone for the Mountaineers. Chris Smith then ended the game with an 8 yard TD run. Madison is now 3-1 on the year and will travel to Riverside next Friday for a 7:00pm game.

MCHS Varsity Football vs Warren County. Madison wins 26-20 in Overtime. Grace Fox crowned 2016 Homecoming Queen.
At half time, MCHS Senior Grace Fox was crowned Homecoming Queen.

From MCHS Athletics: “The Varsity Football team beat East Rockingham tonight 34-32. Madison’s Eric Cashman kicked a 18 yard field goal with 4 seconds left in the game to give the Mountaineers the win. Madison is now 2-1 on the season and have a bye next week. They return to action at home on Friday September 23rd against Warren County and it will be Homecoming for the Mountaineers.”
