From MCHS Athletics: The Baseball team beat Page County 1-0 in 8 innings in the Region 2A East 1/4 finals. Eli Estes threw all 8 innings allowing only 2 hits for the win. Chris Smith opened the bottom of the 8th with a single up the middle and was sacrificed to 2nd by Estes. Shane Aylor then delivered a 2 out RBI single down the left field line to bring home Smith for the 1-0 win. Zach Adams and Smith both had 2 hits on the night for the Mountaineers. Madison will host Maggie Walker on Wednesday night at 7:00pm in the Region semi-finals. (click any photo below to see the gallery from the game)

From MCHS Athletics: The Softball team defeated George Mason tonight 10-0 to advance to the Conference 35 Finals. Madison hit the ball extremely well tonight highlighted by a 3 run home run from Sam Breeden. Madison will host Central tomorrow night at 7:00 for the Conference Championship. With the win tonight, the Mountaineers also earn a berth in next weeks Region 2A East Tournament. Click the photo below to see the photo gallery from the game.

From MCHS Athletics: The Baseball team advanced to the Conference 35 Finals with a 14-1 win over George Mason tonight. Madison scored 9 runs in the 1st inning sending 14 batters to the plate. The Mountaineers had 5 hitters with multi hit games led by Shane Aylor with 4. Eli Estes, Chris Smith, Isiah Smith and Isaiah Breckenridge also had multi hit games. Madison will now wait on the winner of tomorrows other semi-final game between Clarke County and Strasburg. Clarke beat Central 5-4 tonight. Madison’s varsity softball and baseball teams won their final regular season game of the season this evening. Varsity softball defeated Central Woodstock 3-2 and will be the #1 seed in next week’s Conference 35 Tournament. Varsity baseball defeated Central Woodstock 5-0 and will be the #2 seed in the Conference 35 Tournament next week. Both will play at home.
