Madison varsity baseball defeated Rappahannock this evening 14-0 on “senior night.” Eight MCHS baseball seniors played in their last regular home game…..um, well, not really, they play a couple of makeup games later in the week at home. Anyway, they honored the eight seniors and their parents anyway: J. P. Utz, Tyler Colvin, Josh O’Donnell, Dustin Farmer, Josh Lillard, Mason Bowman, Austyn Wells, and Thomas Cashman.

Madison got a big win this evening in varsity softball, defeating William Monroe 4-3 on a Lauren Seale walk off 2 run double. (click either photo below to see the photos from the game)

Madison’s Chandler Gentry gave the Mountaineers a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning with a solo home run.

Madison was down 2-0 at the half. Katy Sorrell got the Mountaineers back in the game with three goals early in the second half. With the game tied at 3-3, Brooke Crouthamel headed in a goal off a Mary Margaret Gaylord corner kick giving Madison a 4-3 lead with about 5 minutes to play. Monroe scored to tie with seconds left in the match. The game ended in a 4-4 tie after overtime. (click the photo below to see the gallery)

Madison’s Lauren Seale threw her second no-hitter of the season, shutting out Central 6-0, and tallied 14 K’s for the night. Madison is now 12-3 for the season, and 9-1 in Bull Run District play. (click the photo below to see the gallery)
