Nice, solid defensive play by the Mountaineers, and a Joey Camillucci home run give Madison a 3-2 win over Clarke this evening.
Madison was down 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth, and one out, when Andrew Alexander got on base with a walk. Josh Honaker put down a nice sacrifice bunt to move Andrew to second. Then, with two out, Joey Camillucci hit a two run homer that would give Madison the win. Travis Warren went the distance on the mound picking up the win.
There wasn't much doubt where that one was going once it left the bat...

Both teams came into this game with 3-0 Bull Run District records. Madison led 3-1 when I left at the end of the second inning, and would come away with an eventual 7-3 win to take possession of first place in the district.
LOVE the light on the field this time of day, just as the sun is going down…fun to play with light and shadow…. 🙂

The varsity boy’s game vs Rapp ended in a 0-0 tie…at least as far as I know. There was about 13 minutes left in the game when the refs cleared the field because of lightning.
A little pushing and shoving always makes for good pictures 🙂
Madison JV boys defeated Rapp 6-0. First half goals by Matthew Beeler (2), Luis Herrera, and Tyler Kemp. Second half goals by Matthew Beeler and Luis Herrera.
Eighth grader Matthew Beeler scored three goals in today's JV boy's soccer game with Rappahannock.

Madison’s varsity baseball team also played a double header against Luray this evening. I got there for the last few outs of the first game. Madison won the first one by the slaughter rule in five innings, score was 15-4, and ends their 7 game losing streak. I stayed for some of the second game, until it got too dark, and left with Madison having a 4-0 after three and a half innings. (Final 11-2 Madison).
