Madison picked up three wins this evening over William Monroe. Madison’s JV Softball team started it off with a 2-1 win over William Monroe’s JV girls. Varsity softball followed JV, I left after three innings to head over to baseball. Madison’s girls had a 1-0 lead when I left on a solo home run by freshman Lauren Seale, her second of the season. Before I left for baseball I’d seen on twitter that J.P. Utz had hit a grand slam in the first inning of the baseball game, and when I got there Madison had a 7-1 lead. They’d keep that through the fourth inning, William Monroe would score 5 runs in the fifth to come within one, but got no closer with Madison picking up the win 7-6. Ryan Taylor gets the win, and J.P. Utz the save. Click on a picture below to go to the respective galleries.

Well, it wasn’t the prettiest softball you’ll ever see, but some big hits at the right time, got the job done. Warren had a 4-3 lead going into the bottom of the seventh. Junior Anna Kelliher evened up the score by hitting the first pitch over the fence. Singles by Megan Clarke and Casey Racer, followed by a Jordan Aylor walk, loaded up the bases with one out. Amber Robson hit a infield ground ball and Megan Clarke beat the throw home giving Madison the win. And we don’t want to forget a solo homer in the fourth by freshman Lauren Seale that kept Madison in the game before the wildness of the final innings.
Freshman Lauren Seale takes one over the fence in the fourth.
A little "jube" after Anna Kelliher ties the game in the bottom of the seventh with a solo home run.
Lots going on in this pic, love it! Last play of the game.
Megan Clarke scores the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

….but they were playing anyway. Scrimmage tonight, varsity vs Culpeper Blue Devils. No one scored while I was there….but my fingers could only stand it an hour….couldn’t feel the shutter button after that.
