MCHS Girl’s Soccer vs William Monroe

Published by under girls soccer, mchs,William Monroe

Madison’s Lindsey Wheeler scored a goal in the first half…and that would be all of the scoring for the game.  The game was called at half time because of lightning and storms in the area.  Lots of good action though, for a half game….

This wasn't Lindsey's goal...but I like the picture better 🙂

Nice "crash sequence" of Anna Artale and the William Monroe goalie in the gallery.

Katy Sorrell takes a corner kick from Lydia Jacobs.

The JV girls defeated William Monroe 7-0.  Caitlin Shilan started off the scoring for Madison, scoring a goal in the first half and giving the Lady Mountaineers a 1-0 lead going into the second half.  And, a few minutes into the second half….it got a little crazy.  It seemed like they scored a goal every couple of minutes for the rest of the game.  Brooke Crouthamel (2 goals), Abby Bowman, Savannah Bench, Quinn Snow and Sheridan Santinga all scored for Madison in the second half.

The problem with shooting soccer, is if you want to be on the end where they score the goals, you miss the good jube shots, because they always turn around to celebrate.

But, Brooke Crouthamel was kind enough to pick Caitlin up and spin her around so I could get a good shot!! A nice jube sequence of Caitlin and Brooke in the gallery...

The rest of the game all the celebrations were on the other end.

And yes, Kathleen Machleit had a great game in goal, nabbing a penalty kick right in front of the goal to keep the Dragons scoreless.

SuperMoon!!!

Published by under moon

Okay, you’ve already heard all about it on the news, “A SuperMoon is a new or full moon which occurs when the Moon is 90% or greater of its closest approach to Earth.”  And that happened last night, and won’t happen again for a while.  Anyway, you can click on either of the pics below to see a few of my favorites from the night.

IT’S A FAKE…IT’S A FAKE!!!!  But I had you going for a minute didn’t I?  Just couldn’t resist 🙂  I think this is what we expected from all the news reports, but it wasn’t all that much bigger than usual.  At least I couldn’t tell much difference.  I was pretty darn bright though!!  I was out taking pictures around the barn, turned around, and noticed that I was casting quite a shadow.  So I took the photo below.  Its’s a 30 second time exposure, so I had to stand still for a long time so the shadow would show up.  You can see a few more time exposures by clicking on either of the photos.

2011 Relay for Life Alumni Basketball Game

Published by under basketball,Relay for Life

Relay for Life’s “Madison Sisters Walking for a Cure” hosted two Alumni Basketball games last night in Wetsel Gym, featuring “players from the past”.  All proceeds from the event went go to Relay for Life.

I went back and forth a few times between the baseball games and the women’s and men’s basketball games.  The women played first, and I shot the first half of their game.  Click the pictures below to go to the galleries.  There are digital images for sale for $3 each.  You’ll be able to download the image immediately once you complete the payment process.  ALL PROCEEDS go to Relay for Life, so BUY LOTS OF PICTURES…whether you want them or not 🙂

The men’s game followed the ladies.  I ended up shooting the whole men’s game since I had realized by then that the varsity baseball game would probably never be over….

Both games were very cleanly played, I think the referees called four fouls during the entire men’s game.

...no foul here...

This may look like a foul, but it wasn't. The camera angle is deceiving.

No, he's not about to attack, he's just celebrating his basket.

You KNEW I had to include one of these!

MCHS Baseball vs Orange Hornets

Published by under baseball,orange

After one long a** baseball game, Madison got their third win of the season defeating Orange 12-9, and are now 3-0 for the season.  Josh Lillard got the win on the mound, with Kyle Davis picking up a save.

I knew the game was going to be long when the first inning lasted 45 minutes!  But, the long game gave me time to shoot some of the Relay for Life benefit basketball games, and still spend plenty of time at the baseball game.

This is what you get when you expect the baserunner to slide....but he doesn't.

JV baseball lost to Orange 6-5 after Orange came from behind to pick up the win.

Ashton Weakley reacts to his triple..

I never really get tired of shooting pitchers from behind home plate…I like that layering of the batter superimposed over the pitcher…

MCHS Boys Soccer vs Orange

Published by under boys soccer,orange

Madison’s varsity boy’s soccer team lost their home opener today to Orange 5-1.  Madison’s lone goal was scored by Benny Fabian with an assist to Stephen Dixon…I think…I’m looking through the lens all the time and miss stuff sometimes….

Nice shot of Orange's goalie deflecting a shot...taken with a remote camera mounted behind the goal.

Madison’s JV Boy’s soccer team defeated Orange today 3-2.  Luis Herrera put in two goals for Madison, and Daniel Richards added the third and final goal giving Madison the win.
