MCHS Athletics: The Boys Varsity Basketball team beat Warren County tonight 57-49 avenging an earlier season lose. Travis Warren led the Mountaineers with 19 points. Matt Temple added 10 points and Rashad Bolden, Patrick Roebuck and Bobby Ford all chipped in with 6 points apiece.
Lots of extra cheerleaders there tonight (from a cheer camp put on by the varsity cheerleaders), but they didn't get to do much jumping after free throws.....'cause we didn't make many free throws.....
Some of you might have noticed, at the girl’s varsity basketball game with George Mason a couple weeks ago, there was a photographer there shooting the Lady Mustangs. He seemed to be shooting more of a “day in the life” piece rather than action, so I asked if that was what he was doing. He told me about the upcoming article they were doing for the Washington Post. From MCHS Athletics: The Boys Varsity Basketball team beat Rappahannock tonight 78-21. Travis Warren led the Mountaineers with 18 points. Freshman Matt Temple tossed in a career high 16 points as well.
And the JV Boys brought got another win tonight also: The Boys JV Basketball team beat Rappahannock tonight 56-25. Lucas McDaniel led the way with 8 points. Tyler Colvin, Terrence Hill, Josh O’Donnell, James Graves and Clifford Fortune all had 6 points to pace a very balanced offense.
From MCHS Athletics: The Girls Varsity Basketball team beat Rappahannock at home tonight 48-30. The Mountaineers were led by Chandler Gentry with 15 points and Abby Erb added 8 points. Timberly Deane, Lauren Seale and Chapat Tyree all had 6 points in the win. Madison is now 1-3 in the Bull Run District..
