32 Fifth Graders from Waverly Yowell ran a 5K today on the Cross Country Course next to the Primary School….the same course that the high school athletes use….and they were VERY fast…..and the ALL FINISHED!! In case you didn’t know, a 5K is 3.1068559612 miles, and if you’ve ever seen the course, it has some pretty wicked hills on it!! Very impressive!! Here are a few favorites from the race, click any of them to see the whole gallery. (photos are available for free download from the gallery if you want ’em)
A rather impressive group of photographers were there to record the event, stills and video. Stay tuned for more once all that’s put together…

The Seniors won it this year 14-7 on two touchdowns by Megan Clark, one off an interception. The Juniors lone td was scored by Leanna Coates. Cody “Brandi Candy” Banks was crowned Powderpuff Queen 2010. The Queen candidates raised over $250 that’ll go towards the prom this year.

Madison lost to Altavista last night 30-22. Ralph Yates’ td and 2 point conversion tied the game at 22 with 2 minutes left to play….but Altavista scored with seconds left on the clock to get the win and advance to play Gretna next week. Here’s a link to the Star Exponent article on the game.
This was one of the better seasons I’ve photographed since I started all of this (not that I took better pictures, it was just a heck of a lot of fun to be there!)….sorry to see it end….a few photos…
I rode the bus down this year....a little bumpy....but beat the heck out of that long drive!!
