Madison’s Varsity Girl’s Soccer team got a mercy rule win over Rappahannock this evening with a 8-0 win and advance to the Bull Run District Semi-finals where they’ll play Clarke, next Tuesday at 5pm at George Mason High School. Samantha Cubbage (3), Rachel Strahan (2), and Mary Margaret Gaylord all scored in the first half to give Madison a 6-0 lead at the break. Ashley Sealander and Ivy Jacobs scored in the second half to make the final 8-0.
This wasn’t Mary Margaret’s goal…it would come a minute or two later…but this made a more interesting photo 🙂
Rapp’s goalie stopped this shot from Sam, but Sam put in the rebound for one of her three goals.
Ivy “hipped” in her goal off a corner kick from Ashley Sealander….

Yep, Zach scored on this one…
…and Luke on this penalty kick. The goalie guessed right, Luke shot left.

Madison’s boys jv and varsity teams both picked up soccer wins today defeating Strasburg. Varsity won 2-0 with both goals being scored by Zach Herrman.
I liked the photo below of Nick with the goalie and ball both in the frame, doesn’t happen that I’m in just the right spot like that very often…except it did happen a little earlier…and it was Zach’s first goal…but the photo was WAY out of focus…I hate it when that happens….
Marcus Divers and Jeremy Hilton combined for three goals to give Madison a 3-1 win over Strasburg in the JV game. And I say “combined” because I forgot which one of them scored two, sorry about that. But it was a great game to watch, definitely the best JV boy’s soccer game I’ve seen them play this year. Good way to finish the season!
