Madison defeated Rappahannock 49-27 in their first match in today’s Bull Run District Duals. (click one of the pictures below to see that gallery)
Madison competed against Manassas Park in their second match of the day. That match ended in a 34-34 tie. After a lot of consulting with the rule book, Manassas Park was eventually given the win. From what I overheard, they had to go to the eighth tie breaker before a winner could be determined….but don’t quote me on that. (click one of the pictures below to see photos from that match)

Madison jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead, and never trailed during the first half. Fluvanna tied it at 23 with a three pointer just before the half-time buzzer. After half-time, the Lady Flucos took the lead and never trailed during the second half. The score was 47-35 Fluvanna with less than a minute to play. I made my exit when the fouling started…that just delays my bedtime.
The JV girls lost to Fluvanna 31-22.

If you weren’t in Wetsel gym tonight, you missed two exciting basketball games!! Madison’s varsity boys defeated AA Charlottesville (currently ranked #1 in the Jefferson District) tonight 68-60. The Mountaineers now have a record of 15-0.
