MCHS Varsity Football vs Fluvanna
Madison won its home opener last night defeating Fluvanna in three overtimes to a take a 26-20 win. From the MCHS Athletics website:
The Varsity Football team won their season opener tonight 26-20 in 3 overtimes against Fluvanna. Stephen Dixon kicked a 27 yard field goal with 1 minute left in regulation to tie the score at 6-6. It was Dixon’s second field goal of the night. The overtime was a thrill ride as Fluvanna scored on a 4th and 22 to take a 13-6 lead. Madison’s Devon Boone scored from a yard out and Dixon tied the game at 13 with the extra point. Fluvanna would score in the 2nd overtime, this time on a 4th and 13 play. Madison tied the game again with a bruising 7 yard run from Jerod Williams. The Mountaineer defense held the Flucos in the 3rd overtime and Logan Terrell scored from 4 yards out to seal the win.
