…actually, more of a flash flood.  Not good when it’s thundering during the National Anthem.

MCHS Varsity Girl’s Soccer vs Wilson Memorial-Region B Quarter Finals

Published by under mchs,soccer

Wilson scored 1:40 into the game giving them a 1-0 lead.  Madison held them scoreless for the next 98 minutes, which included 4 OTs.  Ivy Jacobs scored a little over 10 mintues into the second half off of a perfectly placed free kick from Ashley Sealander.  The game stayed tied through the four overtimes and was finally decided on penalty kicks.  An exciting game to watch, just didn’t end the way we Mountaineers had hoped.

An article in the News Leader

From the MCHS Athletics website:

Girls Soccer Loses in 4 OT in Region Quarter-Finals The Girls Varsity Soccer team lost at Wilson Memorial 2-1 in the quarter finals of the Region B Tournament. Ivy Jacobs scored on a header with 30 minutes remaining to tie the score at 1. The game remained tied through four 5 minute overtime periods. Wilson then outshot the Mountaineers on penalty kicks for the win.

Pileated Woodpecker

Published by under wildlife

Dryocopus pileatus I always called them red headed woodpeckers, but apparently that’s not accurate.  And from what I could find, this must be a female.  The male has a red strip under his beak.

She liked looking at herself in my truck window.  She was there all morning.
