The eagles…

…seem to know when I’m only carrying a camera with a wide angles lens.  The one in the photo below was also making sounds I’ve never heard an eagle make before.  I’m assuming I now know what an eagle snicker sounds like.

MCHS Girl’s Soccer vs Orange

Madison varsity was leading 2-1 when I left (to see if baseball and/or softball were playing in the rain).  One goal by Ivy Jacobs and two by Samantha Cubbage.

Samantha's second goal...I hate it when I'm standing in the wrong spot!

The JV Girls lost 2-1 when Orange scored a goal with less than 2 minutes left in the game.

MCHS Girl’s Soccer vs William Monroe

When I left the varsity game, they were heading into overtime with the score tied at 1…don’t know the outcome…

Update (from the MCHS Athletics website):

The Girls Varsity Soccer team beat William Monroe yesterday 3-2 in overtime. Samantha Cubbage scored twice and Rachel Strahan added a goal to lead the Mountaineers. Lindsey Wheeler and Ashley Sealander had assists. Tori Puryear had 9 saves in the goal.

The JV Girls defeated William Monroe 4-0 with Haley McLean scoring two goals and Mary-Margaret Gaylord providing the other two.

Varsity Softball/Baseball vs Luray

Tiffany Geer hit a two run homer to put Madison up 3-0 just before I left..

Softball results from the MCHS Athletics website:

The Varsity Softball team improved their record to 2-1 today with a 7-0 win over Luray. Freshman Anna Kelliher picked up her first win of her career tossing 5 shutout innings and striking out 6. Maci Dyer came in and completed the shutout with 2 scoreless innings and 3 strikeouts. Tiffany Geer pounded 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI to lead the Madison offense. Dyer also had an RBI single.
