No rest….
Madison’s JV Girl’s Soccer team had to play yesterday with only 8 players on the field compared to Manassas Park’s full team of 11. (The missing Madison players are on a band trip to Chicago.) I got to the game in the first half, Kaci Cromwell had scored a goal earlier to five Madison a 1-0 lead. Kayla Compton scored with about 15 minutes left in the first half to put Madison up 2-0. Manassas Park would put in one goal to make the score at half time 2-1.
I thought the girls looked tired when I got there and they still had a whole half to play! Madison played with 7 players from time to time due to injuries, or players just needing a break from the heat.
Autumn Artale did an amazing job in goal stopping multiple scoring attempts by the Cougars. Great defensive play by the rest of the team kept the score at 2-1 until Kaci Cromwell scored a goal with less than 2 minutes on the clock to put Manassas Park away for good and give Madison a 3-1 win.
