VA Basketball State Championships
Below are links to a short slideshow of photos from each of Saturday’s State Tournament Basketball games. It would have been nice if Madison had been there, but it was fun going to the Tournament and not really caring who won or lost, but just photograph the games. So, click on the links to see the photos. There’s some action in there, but also lots of emotion. Being second in the state just isn’t quite as much fun as being first!

Hidden Valley defeats Waynesboro 60-45 for the State Title

George Wythe defeats Gate City 68-53 to win the State Championship

Floyd County defeats Lancaster 64-50. Floyd’s Brittany Avacini (00) finishes with 31 points. Andrea White (#11, pictured below), from Lancaster, broke 1000 career points in the first half of the game, and she is only a SOPHOMORE!

Nelson wins the State Championship in a very close game over Surrey.
