MADISON COUNTY, VA

Home of the 145.41/144.81 repeater
and the 53.91/52.91 repeater

Both on PL 100.0
The PL is on 145.41 is only on when needed.  At the moment, it is on a schedule. The repeater is on PL access from 6 AM until 10 AM every morning.   If your radio does not transmit PL, you may use 10* to turn the PL OFF.  To switch the repeater back to PL access, use the command 11*.  If you would like to know the current time, use 2*.  This feature is available from both the 145.41 and 53.91 machines.  Please identify after the time is given.
In the event of a power failure, the repeater has battery backup.  When the repeater is on battery, there will be a Morse Code letter B sent following the courtesy tone.

We've had a bear visiting our repeater lately.  To see some of the damage he/she has done, go to the Bear Page.

Here are two maps (north and south) that give some idea of the coverage of the 145.41  repeater with a 50 watt mobile. We don't have many points yet, hopefully we'll be able to add more as we use the repeater more, especially once we get it on AC.

The 6 meter repeater is now on the air with the callsign AD4CG.   It went up Saturday, October 2, 1999.  The  frequency is 53.91 tx and 52.91 rx.  It  also has a  PL of 100.0.  The PL is on all of the time.

If you are interested in building a Amateur Radio repeater, or just learning more about them, there is an excellent repeater owners mailing list at onelist.com.  Go to their web site and do a search for "repeater".  There is more than one list there, you want the one called Repeater (singular).  Beware, some days you may get 50-100 messages, but there is a lot of knowledge there.
